Welcome to www.serranoimmigration.com ("Service" or "Site"). This site is owned, maintained and operated by the Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. The Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. is a professional corporation (law firm) incorporated in Virginia (USA) and managed by attorney Federico B. Serrano, a Virginia solo practitioner. The use of the term “Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C.” should be read to include “Federico Serrano, P.C.”.

1. Your Relationship with Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C..
1.1. Acceptance of Terms.
Please review all of the terms carefully before using this Site. By using this Site you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by this Agreement. In order to use this Site, you must first agree to the Terms. If you do not agree with all the Terms, please do not use the Site. You understand and agree that Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. will treat your use of the Site or Service as acceptance of the Terms from that point onwards.

You may not use the Services offered on this Site and may not accept the Terms if you are not 18 years or older. Before you continue, you should print off or save a local copy of the Terms of Service for your records. 


1.2. Changes To This Agreement.
Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. may make changes to this Agreement from time to time in its sole discretion. Your continued use of the Service will signify your acceptance of the changes. The latest Terms will be posted on the Site. Please check this page from time to time for current terms of use. 

2. Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. Website. 
2.1 Informational and Educational Venue.
The Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. Site is a venue for informational and educational purposes. 


2.2 Information Provided On Public Portion of Site is Not Legal Advice.
No content on the public portion of our Site is intended to constitute professional legal advice. Answers on this Site are to be used for general information purposes only, not as a substitute for in-person evaluation or specific professional advice. Where we have accepted to provide legal services to you, the agreement covers the time period from which you accept this Agreement and we have received your payment to the time we have provided you with the requested and purchased legal advice.


2.3. No Client-Professional Relationship Created.
This site is not intended to create an attorney-client relationship between you and Federico Serrano, P.C. unless you are accepted by this law firm as a client. You are accepted as a client only when there is an Engagement Agreement signed and agreed to by both parties in writing, you register as a user, and payment is submitted.  Simply submitting a payment, or contacting our law firm, or registering as a user, does not make you a client or create an attorney-client relationship between us. 

Once you request our services, either by contacting our law firm or submitting a payment, we will prepare and send you an Attorney-Client Engagement Agreement.  We do this in order to avoid any misunderstanding about our mutual obligations.  Experience has shown that our relationship will be stronger and more productive if we begin it with a clear understanding of the basic terms of our engagement and working relationship.    

Unless you are a client, communications on this site do not create attorney-client relationships and are not the subject of any associated privileges or confidentiality protections. Communications on this Site are limited, do not involve in-person evaluations or visits, and do not include safeguards and procedures typical of in-person evaluations and visits. When submitting your question, do not disclose confidential or sensitive information.  Unless you are a client, Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. has no duty to maintain as confidential any information submitted. As noted above, you do not become a client, and no attorney-client relationship is created, by simply submitting a question or information. If you are a client, and are communicating with us via e-mail, you should note that the security of internet e-mail is uncertain. By sending sensitive or confidential e-mail messages which are not encrypted you accept the risks of such uncertainty and possible lack of confidentiality over the internet.


2.4. Limitation of Services. 
The purpose of Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. is to provide limited legal services on immigration legal matters. You are charged a one-time fee for limited legal services related to U.S. federal immigration law. The legal services provided by us only extend to those services you have requested and purchased and we have provided. After you have purchased a service and we have agreed to provide it and have completed the work, you cannot expect us to perform in any additional capacity. Likewise, after you have paid for the requested services and we have performed them, we will not expect any further payment from you other than payment for the original requested legal services performed by us.

If we determine during our communication with you that your specific legal matter requires extending the scope of our limited legal services agreement, we will let you know in order that a written engagement agreement be prepared, reviewed, and accepted by both parties. We can also refer you to another law firm or to a local Lawyer Referral Service in your area. 

By providing you with limited legal services, and unless we have agreed to represent you in writing to extend the scope of our limited legal services, we have not agreed to attend a hearing or interview on your behalf or provide any legal services extending beyond those services which you have purchased and we have agreed to provide. This includes, but is not limited to, legal work relating to a Request for Evidence (RFE), Motion to Reopen/Reconsider, and Appeals. You agree that it remains your responsibility to proceed pro se by filing all legal and immigration documents and applications while complying with federal immigration laws and procedures with all government agencies involved. 

There are many governmental parties involved in the immigration process - each tasked with performing different duties using their independent judgment. Therefore, as with any legal service, our law firm does not guarantee any particular outcome of the representation. 


2.5. Staff and Third-Party Contractors.
Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. will have primary responsibility for the matters contracted for, but may utilize the services of other staff and outside third-party contractors, as needed, to perform the work in the most economical and efficient means possible. 

2.6. Privacy Overview.
The Site is an Internet-based venue. The information that we obtain through your use of our Site, whether through the registration process or otherwise, is subject to the Privacy Overview posted on our Site (“Privacy Overview”). The Privacy Overview contains the terms and conditions that govern our collection and use of the information that you provide to us. Please review the applicable Privacy Overview before you use this Site. If you are unwilling to accept the terms and conditions of the Privacy Overview, please do not use our Site. 

3. Your Use of this Site. 
3.1. Registering as a User.
In order to access certain services on this Site, you will be required to register as a User. When you register as a User, you will establish a user name and password for access to your online account. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your password or of your account, you agree to notify Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. immediately at info@serranoimmigration.com.


3.2. Additional Terms of Use.
If you wish to terminate your service, you may do so via e-mail to info@serranoimmigration.com. Termination of your account does not affect your liability or obligations under the Terms of this Agreement. Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, to modify or discontinue any portion or all of the Service, and to suspend or terminate Users’ accounts.


3.3. Fees, Deposits and Refunds.
You will pay a flat-fee for the services offered on this Site. Fees paid for services rendered are not refundable.

4. Legal Statements.
4.1. Acts and Omissions.
In using our services, you will be asked a series of questions. The answers you give will dictate the response and the outcome of any service provided. Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. relies on you providing the correct information. You alone are responsible for ensuring the answers or any information that you give is correct. Users are responsible for their acts and omissions and content placed on the Site.


4.2. Proprietary Rights of Content. 
Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. claims copyright protection on all of the content provided in this website, including but not limited to text, software, music, sound, photographs, video, and graphics. 8. Choice of Law and Forum. 
The Terms shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. Each party using our website or services agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Virginia, and agrees that venue for any action resulting from the Terms or the use of our Services shall be in Fairfax County, Virginia and waives any and all jurisdictional, venue or inconvenient forum objections.

The Terms constitute the whole legal agreement between you and Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. and govern your use of the Services (but excluding any services which Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. may provide to you under a separate written agreement), and completely replace any prior agreements between you and Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. in relation to the Services. 

You agree that if Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. does not exercise or enforce any legal right or remedy which is contained in the Terms (or which Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. has the benefit of under any applicable law), this will not be taken to be a formal waiver of Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C.’s rights and that those rights or remedies will still be available to Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C.. Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C. shall not be deemed to have waived any of its rights or remedies unless such waiver is in writing and signed by Law Office of Federico Serrano, P.C.. 

You may not assign the Terms to any other party. The section titles in the Terms are solely used for the convenience of the parties and have no legal or contractual significance.

If any court of law, having the jurisdiction to decide on this matter, rules that any provision of these Terms is invalid, then that provision will be removed from the Terms without affecting the rest of the Terms. The remaining provisions of the Terms will continue to be valid and enforceable.
